Where Culture Converges: The Language Library, Sheffield
DESIGN A COMMUNITY LIBRARY IN THE CONTEXT OF 2022-2023
The library is the focal point for the building, offering collections of objects with which people can access and engage. The cafe may form a threshold between the city and the secluded/ethereal world of the library. It could work as a place for debate and discussion, for information exchange, performance or exhibition. Ancillary spaces: Storage, Information, Toilets, Office and Event Space (internal/external). Floor areas for the above spaces are deliberately not provided. The areas and volumes of spaces should be appropriate to your specific brief. The design should be at least 2 storeys high, incorporating appropriate circulation, including a lift and stairs. It should be fully accessible to accommodate a range of general and specific building users
